Oh no! My child makes digital art. What do I do now?

Behind a closed bedroom door, someone is building a world. It might be a character drawn a thousand times, an avatar with a life of its own, a webcam performance, a fandom, a private universe made of pixels and obsession. For a generation of artists, the screen was the first studio, and no one was invited in.

This auction brings that world out of the room. Each artist is invited to imagine that they have a child who has just started making digital art: what would that child make, and what would it be like to find out? The work can be tender, funny, anxious, proud, or strange. It can be the child's art, the parent's reaction, or the space between them.

The prompt is not a selection criterion. Artists of any background, path, or medium are welcome, from self-taught to classically trained, from hand-drawn on-device to 3D, net art, animation, and generative work. What connects the works is the imagined scene: private, self-initiated creation, seen through the eyes of someone who loves the maker and doesn't fully understand what they're looking at.

The title borrows the voice of an anxious parent, but the works reply with ambition, tenderness, and rigor.
